Service Manager- Volvo Wakefield

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Service Manager to lead the aftersales operation at our Wakefield Volvo dealership. This is a key role, responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while driving performance, profitability and team engagement in line with Volvo and Riverside standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full aftersales customer journey, ensuring a premium, seamless and professional experience at every touchpoint
  • Lead, coach and motivate the service department, including technicians, service advisors, service reception, drivers and valeters
  • Work closely with the Workshop Controller to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the workshop
  • Manage workshop and service diaries, capacity planning and workflow to maximise efficiency and productivity
  • Monitor and deliver against company budgets, KPIs and performance targets, driving profitability and continuous improvement
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, manufacturer requirements and Riverside standards
  • Handle customer escalations professionally, turning issues into positive outcomes
  • Support recruitment, training, development and performance management within the service team

About You

  • Proven experience as a Service Manager or Aftersales Manager within a franchised automotive dealership
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to inspire high performance
  • Commercially focused, with experience managing budgets, KPIs and profitability
  • Highly organised, with excellent planning and diary management skills
  • Customer-focused with a passion for delivering premium service
  • Strong understanding of H&S requirements within an automotive environment
  • You must also hold a full UK driving licence.
