What is Motability?

Motability provides an affordable, worry-free way for people with disabilities to lease a new car. It does so by including insurance, maintenance, breakdown assistance and much more.

How do I know if I am eligible for Motability?

You need a qualifying allowance that has at least 12 months remaining to qualify. The following allowances apply:

Enhanced rate mobility part of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
Higher rate mobility part of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

Can I buy my Motability vehicle at the end of my lease?

No, you can’t buy your Motability vehicle at the end of your lease – however, you can lease a brand new vehicle.

Can family members drive my Motability car?

Yes, family members (and/or carers) can drive your Motability car as long as they are named on your insurance policy, and they primarily use the vehicle for your benefit.
