Below we detail the process from finding the an electric vehicle charger for charging at your home through to installation.​

3-PIN VS. WALL CHARGER

EV charging at home is typically done through a standard 3-pin plug or through a specially installed electric wall mounted charger.

​Using your standard 3-pin plug

Due to slower charging speeds through a 3-pin plug, this is best suited for the smaller batteries of plug-in hybrid vehicles. With average charging speeds of 2.3kw for a 3-pin plug, the CUPRA Leon PHEV takes a minimum of 5 hours for a full charge from empty**.

Using with Wi-Fi and the mobile app

The Ohme charger connects to your home via Wi-Fi and can be controlled with the Ohme mobile app†. The app then allows you to manage charging schedules, monitor progress and keep track of electricity usage and costs.

Save up to £350 on your charger installation

The OZEV grant of £350 is available for people living in rented properties and homeowners who live in flats. Used towards the cost of an EV chargepoint, Ohme can claim on your behalf.
