      What is Motability?

      The Motability Scheme provides an affordable and worry-free way for people with disabilities to lease a new car. It includes insurance, servicing, maintenance, full breakdown assistance and the opportunity to adapt your chosen vehicle to meet your specific needs.​​

      How do I know if I am eligible for Motability?

      You are eligible for Motability if you receive one of the following allowances (which is valid for at least 12 months):

      • Enhanced rate mobility part of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
      • Higher rate mobility part of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
      • War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
      • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

      Can I buy my Motability vehicle at the end of my lease?

      No, the scheme doesn’t offer the option to purchase your Motability vehicle at the end of your lease. However, it does provide an opportunity to lease a new one when your current agreement ends.​

      Can family members drive my Motability car?

      Yes, family members or carers can drive your Motability car as long as they are named on your insurance policy. Up to three named drivers are included with your lease, and they must adhere to the scheme's rules and conditions. The primary use of the vehicle should be for your benefit.
