Motability criteria

Each Motability lease package is funded by the customer in question’s mobility allowance.

Allowances that qualify for Motability

Do you receive one of the following?

  • Higher rate mobility part of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Higher rate mobility part of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
  • War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

If you receive one of the above allowances and it has at least 12 months remaining, you’re eligible for the scheme. If you have fewer than 12 months remaining on your allowance, you’ll need to wait until it’s renewed.

Not sure how much is left on your allowance? Please consult your allowance award letter or contact your allowance provider.

Allowances that don’t qualify for Motability

If you receive one of the following, you won’t be able to apply to join the scheme:

  • Lower rate or component of mobility allowance
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Carer’s AllowanceEmployment
  • Support Allowance (ESA)
