CUPRA UK has partnered with suicide prevention charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) for a new collaborative campaign called Let Music Move You.

The campaign aims to increase awareness and appreciation of music’s therapeutic power; how it can support our mental well-being and help us navigate and express the struggles we face in life.

Music is a natural fit for the CUPRA UK’s collaboration with CALM. Cars are often cited as the most popular place for people to listen to their favourite tunes1, with 40% of drivers playing music to relax and manage stress. Similarly, six out of 10 drivers sing whilst alone in the car to help them improve their mood and wellbeing2

To introduce the partnership, CUPRA UK and CALM are releasing a collaborative film called ‘Thank you music for...’. The short video aims to increase awareness of the therapeutic power of music more by shining a light on its unrivalled ability to express, process or find solace for our emotions, to help people tune into their mental wellbeing and not suffer in silence.

Following the launch, the campaign will feature a wide variety of projects and events throughout the year.

From festivals to interactive installations and ambassador activations, Let Music Move You will promote music as a force for good, encouraging people to share with others how music has got them through life’s difficult moments.

Simon Gunning, CEO of Campaign Against Living Miserably, said: “We’re excited to be partnering with CUPRA to drive home the message that music can help us all to reject living miserably.

“Whether it’s blasting your favourite playlist in the car, singing along in the shower or listening to that one song on repeat to get you through a difficult day; music can play a formidable role in our lives. It can help us relax, de-stress and even provide solace when life gets tough.

“At CALM we want to make sure everyone has the tools they need to support their mental wellbeing, so it’s great to see the therapeutic power of music take centre stage in this exciting new partnership.”

Richard Harrison, Managing Director of CUPRA & SEAT UK, said: “As a brand we put enormous value in the power of music, so we’re delighted that CALM shares this principle. Music and wellbeing are inextricably linked; all of us have sung along to our favourite song whilst driving, so to have CALM collaborate with us to raise awareness of music’s therapeutic nature and support those that need it most is incredibly meaningful.

CUPRA has a strong relationship with music. The challenger brand takes pride in its long-term partnership with Primavera Sound, one of the largest and most attended annual music festivals in Europe. Primavera Sound stands as Europe’s leading festival, hosted in Barcelona, CUPRA’s home city.

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) exists to unite everyone against suicide. Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. CALM exists to change this – by offering life-saving services, provoking national conversation, and bringing people together to reject living miserably through culture, music and sport.
